You might not think of quantum technology as related to your work, but maybe it could be?

Social Scientists and Humanities Researchers (from political economists and economic sociologists, to lawyers, historians and geographers) are uniquely placed to address many of the major questions facing quantum today.

Quantum is no longer a distant horizon. It is already reshaping supply chains, financial markets, national security infrastructure, and industrial strategy. The geopolitical stakes are enormous. The regulatory frameworks are lagging badly.

On Friday 5 June, we're hosting a day-long research sandpit at the Advanced Research Centre at the University of Glasgow, bringing social scientists together with quantum technology researchers for structured, cross-disciplinary conversation.

**No prior knowledge of quantum required!!**

There is also funding on the table! Quantum ARC has £10,000 seed funding pots available for new interdisciplinary projects emerging from the day. These funds are actively looking to support collaborative grant applications for social science/humanities and (/of) quantum technology research.

This event seeks meaningful dialogue between political economy, critical social science, humanities, and interdisciplinary methods together to address major challenges of a potentially globally consequential area of emerging technology.

The event is co-organised by the Scottish Research Alliance for Challenges in Quantum Technologies (Quantum ARC), the Political Economy Futures Forum (PEFF), and the Social Studies of Deep Tech project (hosted at the Adam Smith Business School).
