Community Benefits

The Living Laboratory will be woven into the fabric of the local community. Our programme is delivering innovations that will see local health and economic benefits and we are building on our existing links to ensure the community groups at the centre of our programme are represented and involved throughout the research.

The Living Laboratory directly captures and addresses the health inequalities in Govan and Glasgow. We are delivering and implementing precision medicine innovations that will transform patient care locally, improving overall health outcomes and ultimately, leading to a healthier population.

Additionally, the Living Laboratory is creating a life sciences industry cluster at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, attracting new businesses and infrastructure that will see immediate job creation and skills development opportunities in Govan, delivering 446 high value jobs and stimulating growth for the local economy over an 8-year period.
