The imaging research facilities at ICE include Scotland's only 7 tesla (7T) clinical MRI scanner, and 3T MRI and CT research scanners operated by the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Clinical Research Imaging Facility (CRIF).

7T MRI at ICE forms part of the Whole Body Imaging (WBI) facility within the MVLS Shared Research Facilities.

Access to clinical 7T MRI, Total-Body PET and preclinical imaging systems through WBI advances multimodal imaging research in Glasgow by bridging imaging scales, disease progression and clinical translation.
