EquiBCS Privacy Policy

The University Court of the University of Glasgow, incorporated under the Universities (Scotland) Act 1889 and having its principal office at University Avenue, Glasgow G12 8QQ, a registered Scottish charity in terms of Section 13 (2) of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 (Charity Number SC004401, Charity Name ‘University of Glasgow Court’) (“We”) is committed to protecting your privacy.


SCOPE OF POLICY

This policy (together with the applicable end user licence agreement as set out at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ or https://play.google.com/intl/en-us_us/about/play-terms.html (“EULA”) and any additional terms of use incorporated by reference into the EULA, together “our Terms of Use” shall apply to your use of EquiBCS mobile application software (the “App”) hosted on https://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/charts/free-apps/ or https://play.google.com/store?hl=en (“App Site”), once you have downloaded a copy of the App onto your mobile telephone or handheld device (“Device”).

This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed.  Please read the following carefully to understand our views and practices regarding your personal data and how We will treat it.

In the course of contacting us in relation to the App, for example, in sending us an email or communicating with us in any way, you are voluntarily giving us information (“Submitted Information”) that We collect.  Submitted information may include your name, email address, IP address, phone number, postal address, in addition to other details you supply and which may include gender, location, or occupation.  By supplying us with this information, you consent to this information being collected and processed by us as described herein.

Your interactions with us on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter are governed by the privacy policies of the company providing the social media platform.  Anything you submit to the University via a social media platform is done so at your own risk without any expectation of privacy.


USES MADE OF THE INFORMATION

We may use your Submitted Information only for the service you have requested or purpose you have specified in your communication to us, unless you consent otherwise at the time of submitting such Submitted Information.


COOKIES

We will retain your Submitted Information for only so long as is reasonably required to provide the service you have requested from us or for the purpose you have specified in your communication to us.

We do not intend to use your Submitted Information for marketing purposes or to disclose your information to any third party for marketing purposes.  If, at any point, that changes, We will inform you and you would have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes.  You can also exercise the right at any time by contacting us at mvls-digital-education@glasgow.ac.uk.
