The College of Arts & Humanities' MSc Library & Information Studies has officially joined an impressive roster of professionally accredited, industry-recognised programmes – awarded accreditation by CILIP, the library and information association, the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals. 

 

CILIP accreditation is the gold standard for information, library and archive careers – rigorously assessed against the Professional Knowledge and Skills Base (PKSB) and recognised internationally, with reciprocal accreditation in the USA, Canada, Ireland and Australia. 

 

Dr David McMenemy, Reader in Information Studies at the College's School of Humanities | Sgoil nan Daonnachdan said: “We are absolutely delighted to once again receive CILIP accreditation for our programmes in Information Studies.  This accreditation highlights the continuing quality of the teaching and learning opportunities we offer to our students and offers recognition of the value of our qualifications for graduates in the workplace.   CILIP accreditation supports our goal to be a leading venue for the education of the next generation of professionals in galleries, libraries, archives, and museums (GLAM).”
