The College of Arts & Humanities has secured a strong showing in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2026, with several subjects in the UK top 10.

Theology and Religious Studies lead the way at 3rd nationally in the subject rankings. Music follows closely at 4th, with Drama, Dance and Cinematics at 5th and Classics and Ancient History at 8th.

In the top 20, Glasgow also features in Archaeology, English, German, History, History of Art and Philosophy.  

Professor Jo Gill, Vice Principal and Head of the College of Arts & Humanities, said: “Together, these rankings show the College’s consistent performance across a wide range of Arts & Humanities subjects.

“These results reflect the hard work and commitment of colleagues and students. We’re proud of the quality of our teaching and research and of the role our subjects play in shaping understanding and critical thinking in today’s world.”

The University of Glasgow’s overall institutional ranking in The Times and The Sunday Times University Guide is 22nd.
