Dr Frank Dunn graduates again, 52 years after becoming an alumnus

Graduating in June 2022 from the School of Critical Studies, Dr Dunn remembers his first graduation in 1970.

Dr Frank Dunn (MB ChB 1970, MPhil 2022) graduated from the School of Medicine on July 5th 1970. 

Following his first graduation from the University, Dr Dunn has achieved several success' - 

 

1975-76. Clinical Research Fellow. University of Oklahoma

1976-1979. Completed training in Cardiology at Glasgow Royal Infirmary

1980-83. Staff Member Ochsner Medical Institutions and Assistant Professor at Louisiana State University.

1983-2107 Consultant Cardiologist at Stobhill Hospital and Honorary Senior Lecturer, University of Glasgow 

2013 Honorary Professor in Cardiovascular Medical Sciences: University of Glasgow.

2016. DSc. University of Glasgow.

June 28th 2022. MPhil. School of Critical Studies, University of Glasgow. 

 

Dr Dunn's thesis arose from a symposium at the University on the life of the famous author and medical Glasgow graduate, A. J. Cronin. Professor Kenneth Calman was an enthusiastic supporter and contributor to the symposium, as was Professor Gerry Carruthers. The thesis principally addressed the role of Cronin’s most renowned novel The Citadel in the founding of the NHS. 

Dr Dunn celebrated his graduation, as well as his wedding anniversary on the 28th June 2022, and was joined by his wife, children and grandchildren.
