for applicants applying to Undergraduate study from Further Education

Wherever possible, no student currently completing HN, SWAP or other Access study in a Scottish FE College will be denied entry to an Undergraduate programme for which they have been accepted on grounds of missing marks due to industrial action, where existing marks indicate the student is likely to meet the terms of an offer. The University of Glasgow will use this principle when making decisions about individual circumstances on a case-by-case basis.

There are a number of ways that you can meet our entry requirements if you don’t have grades or certificates:

  • A pass in 3 University of Glasgow Summer School modules – Admissions will receive these results directly from our Summer School, you don’t need to share these with us
  • A pass in all University of Glasgow HNC+ Articulation Modules - Admissions will receive these results directly from our FE Transitions Officer, you don’t need to share these with us
  • Evidence of any previous study that meets our adjusted entry requirements – please share these with Admissions using your Applicant Self Service Portal
  • Completion of Studies letter from your College – please share these with Admissions using your Applicant Self Service Portal
  • Screenshot of your results (which includes your name and date of birth) - please share these with Admissions using your Applicant Self Service Portal

for applicants applying to Postgraduate study

Wherever possible, no student currently completing an undergraduate degree in a UK university will be denied entry to a Masters or Doctoral programme for which they have been accepted on grounds of missing marks due to industrial action, where existing marks indicate the student is likely to meet the terms of an offer. The University of Glasgow will use this principle when making decisions about individual circumstances on a case-by-case basis.

Alternative Documentation

Instead of your Undergraduate or Integrated Masters degree certificate outlining your classification award, we can accept:

  • A Completion of Studies Letter from your University and the Latest Transcript of Studies showing grades in modules assessed to date
  • Instead of your Masters degree certificate outlining success in your award, we can accept:
  • A Highly Likely to Achieve award letter

How to Submit

We will require that you upload these alternative qualifications to Applicant Self Service.

Do you need to see my degree certificate when I receive it?

If we require further evidence of your degree award after you enrol, we will notify you and ask you to share this on Applicant Self Service. We will require this evidence by the end of Semester 1 if you are being sponsored for a Student Visa.

I would like to defer my offer?

If you would prefer to defer your studies to the next available intake, you can request a deferral on Applicant Self Service.
