Biography
I have three decades of experience working with data within population health research: supporting and collaborating with researchers within the School of Health and Wellbeing and beyond.
I acquired extensive skills in data management, statistical analysis and communication while working on The West of Scotland Twenty-07 Study, the WHO Scottish MONICA Project (monitoring trends and determinants in cardiovascular disease), and the Scottish Heart Health Study and have published on topics including nutrition, physical activity, mental health and health behaviours.
I bring this experience to my role as Research Data Technical Specialist within Research Computing as a Service (RCaaS). I support the data services offered by RCaaS and support researchers with the development and technical implementation of data management plans. I provide technical guidance and support for the management of data throughout the research lifecycle, from planning and collection to storage, analysis, archiving and sharing. I contribute to capacity building in good research data management.
