Research interests

Teaching: As BVMS 2 course leader I have been closely involved in the development and implementation of the new Foundation Phase of the BVMS Curriculum (commenced Sept. 2013). I am also Course Leader for two courses, Pharmacology and Drug Dispensing (20 Credits) and Pain and Pain Management (10 credits) in the third year of the Veterinary Biosciences BSc Programme

Research: My research interests focus on the pharmacological control of smooth muscle. Experimentally my expertise is using in vitro organ bath set-ups to look at isolated segments of smooth muscle and how they function both in health and disease. I am also interested in methods of evaluating indicators of stress associated with environmental and housing conditions in companion animals.

Technology enhanced learning and teaching (TELT): As TELT contact for the Vet School my role is to provide the academic lead on the development and implementation of effective technology enhanced learning and teaching systems within the School of Veterinary Medicine.
