Dr Anna Beck

Senior Lecturer in Education (Social & Environmental Sustainability)

Biography

Anna is a Senior Lecturer in Education and PGR Deputy Director in the School of Social and Enviromental Sustanability. She currently leads the Rural Education and Learning for Sustainability Hub within the Centre for Teaching Excellence.

Before moving to the University of Glasgow, she was a Lecturer in Teacher Professional Learning (2016-2022) and then a Lecturer in Education Policy at the University of Strathclyde (2022-2023). She completed her PhD in Education Policy in 2017 at the University of Glasgow, School of Education.

Anna is a critical policy researcher, with a background in psychology, school inclusion and education policy. Her current research explores teacher representation and participation in policymaking, with specific focus on the democratic legitimacy of policy networks in education reform.
