Biography

I mostly teach pharmacology and forensic toxicology at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I have a degree in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Paraná - Brazil, a Master of Research (MRes) in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the same Institution, and a PhD in Forensic Medicine and Science from the University of Glasgow, obtained in 2018.

I have over 8 years of experience in Forensics, including 4 years working at the Scientific Police in Brazil where I was involved in hundreds of forensic toxicology cases. I currently also work as a consultant in Health Technology Assessment/Health Economics.

I always try to keep myself busy with other activities. I am currently an Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Lead, an academic editor for PLoS One, and external examiner for other HEIs. I am also the LGBTQ+ representative within the MVLS LGBT+ Equality Group.

Together with my BN Team, I have won the MVLS Teaching Excellence Award 2021-22.

Research interests

I am interested in forensic and clinical toxicology, especially in microextraction methods and use of oral fluid as an alternative sample. 

I also have interest in health technology assessment, including systematic reviews and health economics.
