Biography
I am a Senior Lecturer / Honorary Consultant in restorative dentistry and have been based at the Dental School since 2017. Academically, I am the Clinical Dentistry Section lead and focus on Dental Undergraduate training with an interest in student welfare and early and pre-clinical training. I am also Director of Education for the School of Medicine and Dentistry. Clinically, I am the Restorative Dentistry lead for patients with Cleft Lip and Palate and am part of the Cleft Scotland team.
Caries diagnosis, magnification and eyesight in Dentistry were the topics of my PhD which I completed prior to Specialist clinical training. Prior to coming to Glasgow I ran a number of dental postgraduate programmes at Dundee University and was heavily involved in undergraduate teaching. I have also been Associate Postgraduate Dean at NHS Education for Scotland (NES) with responsibility for undergraduate education and helping to deliver the 2015 Scottish Government Dental Action Plan.
When time allows I pursue my research interests in Forensic Dentistry.
