Dr Lynsey Yeoman
- Clinical University GP Lecturer - Deputy Director of Vocational Studies (General Practice & Primary Care)
Biography
Dr Lynsey Yeoman is a GP Partner, Postgraduate GP Trainer, and Clinical University Lecturer.
She graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2008 and completed GP specialist training in 2015. She subsequently undertook a one‑year NHS Education for Scotland (NES) Fellowship in Health Inequalities, working across NES Glasgow and Hunter Street Homeless Services GP Practice. This was followed by a one‑year Academic GP Fellowship with the University of Glasgow’s Department of General Practice and Primary Care (GPPC). During this period, she also commenced a part‑time Masters in Primary Care at the University of Glasgow.
Dr Yeoman was appointed in 2016 as a Year 2 Vocational Studies Tutor and Year 3 Communications Skills Tutor for the MBChB programme, before being promoted in 2021 to Deputy Director of Vocational Studies. As Year 2 Vocational Studies Lead, she oversees the Formative OSCE and co‑leads the Year 2 summative coursework. Her broader contributions to the medical school include roles as an admissions interviewer, OSCE examiner, Global Health BSc journal club facilitator, and Health Inequalities SSC marker. Since 2025, she has served as a medical advisor on the University’s Fitness to Study Panels, and since 2023 she has been an external examiner for Year 4 at Manchester Medical School.
Alongside her academic responsibilities, Dr Yeoman has been a GP Partner since 2017 in Port Glasgow, working in a Deep End Practice serving some of Scotland’s most deprived communities. She is a strong advocate for reducing health inequalities and a member of the GPs at the Deep End steering group.
Committed to education across the continuum of medical training, Dr Yeoman previously served as a First5 (newly qualified) GP CPD Adviser for NHS Education for Scotland and became a postgraduate GP Trainer in 2021, supporting the clinical supervision and educational development of doctors training to become GPs in her practice and training region.
An active and longstanding member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), she has served on the West Scotland Faculty Board since 2015. She was elected as the First5 GP representative earlier in her career and, in 2025, elected as both the Established GP representative for the region and the West Scotland representative to RCGP Scottish Council.
