Biography
I am a Research Associate with over 20 years' experience in research and teaching, specialising in social and health-focused research. My work centres on improving the health and wellbeing of infants, children, young people and their families, particularly those experiencing adversity, social exclusion or neurodevelopmental challenges. My research includes the development, implementation and evaluation of complex interventions, including feasibility studies and randomised controlled trials, with a focus on family relationships, attachment, mental health and outcomes for vulnerable families. I also have longstanding research interests in intellectual disabilities, health inequalities and social inclusion. Alongside my research, I support early career researchers and PhD students and am committed to co-produced approaches that amplify the voices of marginalised communities.
I graduated from the University of Glasgow with a PhD in 2009 and subsequently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice in 2014. I previously graduated from Aston University with a BSc (Hons) in Human Biology and Psychology in 2003.
