Biography

Dr Alexandra Tsirimokou is a Research Associate at the University of Glasgow and a HCPC-registered Clinical and Forensic Psychologist. She continues to provide therapy in private practice alongside her research role.

Research interests

Alexandra is currently a Research Associate on the SAFER-TECH project, funded through Safe Online. SAFER-TECH is a multi-phase research project exploring technology-assisted child sexual abuse (TA-CSA), focusing on the nature, prevalence, impact, and lived experiences of seeking support following abuse experiences and victimisation. The project aims to develop best practice recommendations and a survivor-centred multi-agency framework for responding to TA-CSA.

Alexandra's research also focuses on trauma exposure in professional contexts, including burnout, vicarious trauma, and post-traumatic growth. She uses qualitative and mixed methods to examine how professionals and organisations respond to sustained exposure to traumatic material, and how systems can support workforce wellbeing.
