On 23rd September, HEHTA PhD student Septiara Putri successfully defended her thesis 'Development of a Cardiometabolic Disease Policy Model: Leveraging the Role of UK Primary Care Data'.

Supervised by Professor Jim Lewsey, Dr Claudia Geue, and Dr Giorgio Ciminata, Septiara's PhD thesis developed a model to provide a mathematical framework to evaluate prevention strategies for cardiometabolic disease. The model enables the support of long-term analysis of health, economic, and inequality outcomes for evidence-based policy decision. Septiara's PhD examiners were Professor Sarah Wild and Dr Robert Heggie, and the viva was convened by Dr Katherine Simpson.
