What Works Scotland have taken an unexpected musical turn.

What Works Scotland have taken an unexpected musical turn. Richard Brunner, Research Associate, and Kirsty Deacon, a PhD student with WWS, each play saxophone. At a recent concert at Glasgow City Halls, Kirsty and Richard made up two-thirds of the saxophone section of Merchant Sinfonia – a musical enterprise that requires no audition, merely enthusiasm and some ability to read music. Having escaped from the City Halls with some dignity intact after contributing to pieces by Shostakovich and Sibelius amongst others, Kirsty and Richard plan to re-join the orchestra in the autumn to play in their Christmas concert. If other colleagues also have instruments to dust off, Kirsty and Richard are happy for you to get in touch with them to find out more about the orchestra, email Richard & Kirsty
