Biography

I work as a mathematical modeller in EPIC (the Scottish Government’s Centre for Expertise in Animal Disease Outbreaks), which provides policymakers with rapid access to emergency scientific advice and analyses to prepare for and respond to emergency exotic and novel animal disease outbreaks.

Research interests

I am a computational linguistics / cognitive psychologist with a particular interest in network dynamics. My research relates to the spread and transmission of infectious diseases through social contact networks. In particular, I investigate the risks and epidemiological implications associated with livestock movements by integrating dynamic social network analysis, statistics, and modelling of behavioural change over time.
