Michelle graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a degree in Biomedical Science and is currently completing her Master’s in Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Glasgow.

Her PhD research, conducted in the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences (MVLS), focuses on Primary Aldosteronism (PA)—a common but underdiagnosed cause of high blood pressure that can lead to strokes and heart attacks. Current tests for PA are complex, and improved diagnostic tools are urgently needed. Michelle’s project will explore circular RNAs (circRNAs) in the blood as potential biomarkers for PA.
