Valerio’s research focuses on understanding amphibian movement, habitat use and applying mitigation methods in response to the chytrid fungus disease.
The project will include using an automated radio telemetry grid to track the amphibians' movement and thermal shelters as a potential mitigation method. He holds a BSc in Zoology from the University of Aberdeen, where he completed his Honours project on roe deer movement in Aberdeenshire. He has also worked as a technician at the University of Glasgow studying Northern Gannet movement and migration.
