Dr Susan Browne

Susan is a Research Associate at General Practice and Primary Care working on the Multimorbidity in Arthritis and persistent musculoskeletal Pain (MAP) Study. The MAP Study aims to understand the effects and experience of multimorbidity and for people living with persistent musculoskeletal pain and rheumatoid arthritis and Susan leads the qualitative arm of this study.
Most recently Susan has worked on ‘An exploration of palliative care services for people with COPD’ at the University of West of Scotland. Prior to that she worked at the Social and Public Health Sciences Unit on an evaluation of Healthy Start Vouchers and on the GUEST study (GUidance for Exploratory STudies of complex public health interventions). Susan had previously worked at General Practice and Primary Care on a number of studies using qualitative methods to understand patient experience to develop interventions or improve services.
Susan is passionate about using rigorous qualitative methods and theoretical approaches to understand inequality and health.
