Biography

I am a qualitative researcher interested in how sex, sexuality and intimate relationships shape people's health and wellbeing.

Education

  • MA Geography and Sociology, University of Edinburgh
  • MPH Public Health, University of Glasgow
  • I am currently undertaking a PhD on young people's sexual wellbeing, University of Glasgow

Current role

I am a research assistant on the Good Measure project. We are developing methodological resources for survey researchers looking to explore the links between adolescent sexual development and gender identity and mental health.

I am a member of the British Sociological Association and a Early Career Researcher representative within the Medical Sociology Group Committee.

Past roles

  • I worked on the development of a measure of adult sexual wellbeing for the National Survey of Sexual Attitudes and Lifestyles (Natsal-4).
  • I researched sexual and reproductive health (SRH), sexual wellbeing, and romantic relationships during the Covid-19 pandemic as part of the Natsal-COVID project. We ran two waves of a national web-panel survey to measure and monitor SRH, and carried out qualitative interviews to explore people's experiences of the pandemic.
