Dr Dimitar Karadzhov

Biography

Dr Dimitar Karadzhov is a Lecturer in the Research Institute of Health & Wellbeing, College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences. He teaches in the Global Mental Health MSc Programme (both on-campus and online distance learning), and has contributed to those programmes since 2016.

Dr Karadzhov's primary research interests include mental health recovery and health inequalities; global mental health; public health; homelessness; child welfare and human rights; qualitative and smartphone-assisted research methodologies; and learning technologies.

Background

Dr Karadzhov obtained a PhD in Public Health and Health Policy from the Centre for Health Policy, University of Strathclyde, in 2020. During this programme, he completed two long-term knowledge exchange secondments at the Silver School of Social Work, New York University. Prior to that, he completed a Master of Science degree in Global Mental Health (Distinction) and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Psychology (Distinction) - both from the University of Glasgow.
