Marine Science in support of Scottish Government Climate Centre of Expertise

Bailey

Scotland's vision is for 'clean, healthy, safe, productive, biologically diverse marine and coastal environments, managed to meet the needs of nature and people'" (Scotland's Marine Atlas 2011).

The work proposed here directly supports this vision, and the research needs highlighted in the Scottish Marine Science Strategy 2010-2015. In particular by working on the productivity and diversity of coastal and marine environments and on their relationship with people.

Two PhD students and their supervisors will carry out literature reviews, modelling and fieldwork into links between climate change, marine fisheries and marine protected areas.
