Centre for Teaching Excellence

Our new Teacher Forum series begins in September with an online session exploring innovation in rural education.

Join colleagues from the Centre and teachers from across Scotland to share experiences, ideas and practical approaches to the opportunities and challenges of working in rural schools.

Together, we'll explore how teachers are responding creatively to challenges such as connectivity, access to resources and geographical isolation, while drawing on the strengths and opportunities that rural contexts can offer.

The session will consider:

  • What are the untapped strengths of rural education?
  • How are teachers responding creatively to the challenges of rural contexts?
  • What can the wider education sector learn from rural schools?

This is the first in a series of online Teacher Forums from the Centre where each session will focus on a different theme, bringing teachers together to share practice and learn from colleagues across Scotland.

Not working in a rural setting? There will be more opportunities to join a future Teacher Forum, further themes and sessions will be announced soon.
