SCAF’s third annual event will take place from 25-27 August 2026 in Aberdeen.

Date & times

  • Tuesday 25th August (afternoon) - Early Career Network Satellite Event
  • Wednesday 26th August (full day) - Conference and networking drinks
  • Thursday 27th August (morning) - Unconference

Location: ONE BioHub, Aberdeen (online: Teams)

Reflecting this year's theme, "Catalysing collaboration for a better food future", the event will bring together diverse voices from across Scotland’s food system for an engaging programme of thought-provoking talks, discussion and interactive opportunities to exchange knowledge, develop collaborations and spark new ideas.

A programme overview can be found below. Online attendance is possible for parts of main conference on 26th August to listen and contribute questions for discussion.

Early Career Network Satellite Event (Tuesday 25th August, PM)

A unique opportunity for early career professionals to collaborate on an ambitious collective writing project that goes beyond traditional academic publishing. More information to be released closer to the date.

Conference (Wednesday 26th August)

The main conference programme will include keynotes, interactive workshops, research talks, flash presentations, posters, break-out discussions and plenty of networking opportunities.

Unconference (Thursday 27th August, AM)

The programme of the unconference will be decided and co-produced by the conference attendees. Sessions can take many different forms, for example, a group discussion, workshop, presentation, informal conversations, or even a walk through the park. The goal is to foster collaboration, exchange and learnings across disciplines and sectors.
