Neurotechnology Seminar Series
Join us for an engaging seminar series exploring the latest breakthroughs in neurotechnology! Leading researchers from a range of fields — including neuroscience, engineering, medicine, psychology, physics, philosophy, and education — across the UK will share insights into the most recent developments in the field.
Our next seminar: Brain interfaces
Brain interfaces: Merging Neurorehabilitation, Imaging, and Artificial Intelligence
Wednesday, 4th June, 3:00 – 5:00 pm
Level 5 Seminar Room, 62 Hillhead Street, Glasgow, G11 6EW
Join Prof. Daniele Faccio and Dr Kathy Ruddy for our next neurotechnology seminar as they share their recent findings in the field of brain interfaces, neurorehabilitation and the role of artificial intelligence. You can also join this seminar via Zoom and after the event keep the conversation going over nibbles and drinks!

Prof. Daniele Faccio – University of Glasgow
The use of techniques such as electroencephalogram (EEG) and Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) can be used for tasks such as brain decoding, enhancement of data transmission rates and classification of seen images.
The perspective of this quantum engineering group working at the interface between imaging, brain-computer interfaces and AI, offers a unique approach to current challenges faced in Neuroscience.

Dr Kathy Ruddy - Queen’s University Belfast
This talk explores how non-invasive EEG-based brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) can support motor recovery in patients with impaired movement, such as after a stroke. By combining visual feedback with neurofeedback techniques like TMS-NF (Neurofeedback of Motor Evoked Potentials), training times can be reduced and clinical applicability improved. Results from mobile EEG applications will also be presented, highlighting their role in supporting long-term rehabilitation through guided motor imagery practice.
Upcoming Sessions
Join the Chronic Pain Neurotechnology Network (CPNN+) on 19th and 20th June for a Neurofeedback workshop. This two day interactive hybrid workshop will be held at the University of Glasgow for details and the agenda please visit the CPNN+ website.
Sessions will be held at the Advanced Research Centre (ARC) and the School of Psychology & Neuroscience (SPN).
