Lovelace-Hodgkin Symposium 2026

Award-winning Dutch singer-songwriter Maaike Siegerist brings together music and science. Influenced by her work as an impact communications officer at the University of Glasgow, she often draws on scientific theories and discoveries in her songwriting. Maaike will perform 'Artificial Child', the new single by her progressive rock band, Long Earth. The song is inspired by Professor Geoffrey Hinton, who pioneered the technologies that underpin AI systems, as he reflects on his invention.
