Abstract
This strand of work has been developed across different projects conducted and facilitated by the PI and research team members as both researchers and teachers across national contexts. It focuses on teachers’ beliefs, role construction, and knowledge development about historically or contemporarily underserved communities where their schools are situated and/or their students live. Although this strand of work has been ongoing, it supports and is supported by CenTCS’ work, with the publication of CenTCS’ concept paper (Dis)Connections in Schooling as a recent example. Next steps include data analysis and manuscript development about teacher-community connections facilitated through teacher professional learning of the Quality Teaching Model.
