What our students say

These are comments from a former student of our parallel programme, Advanced Practice in Health Care:

"Studying for my MSc at the University of Glasgow was such a positive experience  for me both personally and professionally. I knew from the first day of starting the MSc that I had made the right choice to study in the Nursing & Healthcare School, and  although I was the only physiotherapist on the course I was made to feel part of the school immediately and this continued throughout the two years. The course allowed me time to learn and engage with my fellow health professionals, gaining insight and a different perspective into their nursing practices and knowledge which I would not have been able to do in clinical practice. Over the two years I realised that research was an area that I thoroughly enjoyed and the MSc harnessed this interest and lead me to apply for a PhD fellowship with Diabetes UK. I successfully gained the Sir George Alberti fellowship and commenced a three year PhD with the support of the Nursing & Healthcare School. As a post graduate research student within the school I have been involved in grant applications, publications and presentations at conferences, I have a far greater awareness, interest and enthusiasm for health research than I ever did in my 10 years as a clinician as a result of this MSc."
