I am currently a PhD student in Prof Bobby Graham’s lab at Queen’s University, Belfast. I completed my undergraduate degree at University of Liverpool in Biological Sciences and then the MRes Clinical Sciences course. My project in Liverpool involved using mass spectrometry on extracellular vesicles, developing a method to track protein exchange between cells mediated by extracellular vesicles within an in vitro model of cartilage to be applied in the context of equine osteoarthritis.
I have continued my interest in bioveterinary research through my current PhD project trying to find biomarkers for subclinical mastitis. We are using a mass spectrometry proteomic-based method to assess a biobank of samples in partnership with University of Glasgow, aiming to produce a panel of biomarkers to differentiate between healthy, clinical, and subclinical milk samples.
Outside of the lab, I enjoy drawing, reading, weightlifting and horse riding.
