Lancaster University

Bioscience research at Lancaster University spans the molecular to ecosystem scales, with key strengths in plant and pathogen sciences, and with a research focus that aims to identify solutions

To global challenges and to promote healthy lives and environments. Its campus houses a collegiate community   of   world-class researchers, government   scientists, and commercial   enterprises, fostering collaboration and research excellence at disciplinary and interdisciplinary levels, in an approach that underpins the translation of fundamental discoveries into real-world impact. World-class photosynthesis facilities and research is housed within the Lancaster Environment Centre, where researchers aim  to improve  carbon  assimilation  in  crops through  their interactions with breeders  and  agronomists.  These interactions exemplify this partnership’s strengths and are associated with BBSRC’s theme of Bioscience for sustainable agriculture and food.
