Research title: REstoring forest ecosystems for BiodiveRsity and healTH (REBIRTH)
Research summary
My research goal is to assess how rewilding and the presence of large predators affects the ecology of tick-borne disease systems. To do this (in partnership with Fondazione Edmund Mach), I will be comparing mammal and bird community structure, tick abundance and disease prevalance in both natural and rewilded sites in Aberdeenshire, Scotland to those in the Dolomites, Italy.
