Research title: Preventing Recurrent Cerebrovascular and Cardiovascular Events After Ischaemic Stroke: Cardiovascular Genetic and Genomic Approaches

Research Summary

Ischaemic stroke is a leading cause of disability and mortality with varied interventions aimed at reducing the risk of recurrent cerebrovascular/cardiovascular events.

A multi-omics approach will be used to explore factors associated with stroke subtypes and recurrent cerebrovascular/cardiovascular events to identify people who may benefit from certain interventions. Findings have potential to guide future studies including clinical trials and contribute to more targeted treatment approaches post ischaemic stroke.
