Research title: Transfer Learning for Adaptive Compiler Optimization in Edge Devices

Research Summary

Vinamra Sharma (Vin) is a PhD student at the School of Computing Science, University of Glasgow, supervised by Dr. José Cano Reyes. His research focuses on developing advanced AI compilers that optimize for hardware heterogeneity and dynamically maximize utilization through code-driven, adaptive optimizations across diverse AI accelerators.

Before beginning his PhD, Vin completed an MSc in Computing Science (2022–2023) at the University of Glasgow, specializing in Edge AI and on-device learning, where he collaborated with Danilo Pietro Pau from STMicroelectronics and Dr. José Cano Reyes. He earned his B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Bipin Tripathi Kumaon Institute of Technology, India, under the mentorship of Dr. Vishal Kumar.

Alongside his academic research, Vin works as an AI Engineer at Unineed Limited, building end-to-end AI systems for optimizing and automating business process to generate value. Passionate about innovation and collaboration, he is a seasoned hackathon enthisuast; having joined over 110 global hackathons, won 65+ awards, and collaborated with more than 550 people from 38 countries.
