Research title: People Make Glasgow Festivals: examining the reciprocal relationship between place-based policy and community engaged artists at Glasgow’s art festivals
Research Summary
My research uses Glasgow's arts and culture festivals as a site to examine the relationship between policy and art. I am looking at how how policy related to place—such as local authority placemaking initiatives, national tourism and heritage policies, and the UK’s immigration and foriegn policy—influence the structures of the creative and cultural sectors and, ultimately, how those structures influence artists' practices.
