QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026

The University has been ranked in the top 100 in three out of five broad subject areas, including one in the top 50.
The University of Glasgow has placed in the world top 100 in three out of five broad subject areas in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, released today (25 March 2026).
The QS World University Rankings by subject analyse 1,912 institutions across 55 narrow subjects, condensing these into five broad subject areas.
The broad subject areas were ranked:

Life Sciences and Medicine – 41st

Arts and Humanities – 66th

Social Sciences and Management – 85th

Engineering and Technology – 140th

Natural Sciences – 149th

The University was ranked in 46 out of 55 narrow subjects. Six subjects were ranked in the top 50, with 26 in the top 100.
