How should Scottish businesses apply creativity and design to improve their productivity and growth?

In the second of a seven part series of evening discussion forums exploring the Scottish Government’s key priority of Delivering Sustainable Growth, the University of Glasgow’s Business School, in partnership with Clydesdale Bank, is hosting a seminar on Creativity and Innovation.

The event will be chaired by Stuart Cosgrove, Director of Nations and Regions, Channel 4.

Guest speakers are: Janice Kirkpatrick, co-founder and Director of Glasgow design consultancy, Graven Images where she is responsible for research and creative development and Mike Hughes, Managing Director, Graham Technologies plc where he is responsible for the Telephone Companies and Finance business units.

Janice Kirkpatrick, Director Graven Images said: “I will be talking about one of Scotland’s best kept secrets – its creative businesses. I want to show how their ability to make something from nothing can help our other industries and businesses grow.”

Angus Laing, Head of the University of Glasgow Business School said: “In this exciting new programme of events, we are discussing subjects of crucial interest to both policy-makers and business leaders. Our aim is to stimulate meaningful discussions that will not only inform policy debate but will ultimately help form it.”

Future subject headings to be discussed in the series are:

•           Is the green economy viable?
•           The art of management
•           20th century education - 21st century learning
•           High value manufacturing.
