Race Equality Week 2026 is an annual national movement encouraging organisation to take meaningful change on racial inequality. Taking place from the 2-8 February, this year’s theme, #ChangeNeedsAllofUs, complements the University’s Together Against Racism campaign and our commitment to advancing race equality through the ongoing actions from the Understanding Racism and Transforming University Cultures report.

Race Equality Champion, Ms Uzma Khan, Vice Principal for Economic Development and Innovation and Deputy Chief Operating Officer said:
Progressing Race equality requires action, accountability, and allyship from each, and all of us. Real change happens when we all step up and play our part. The actions we take, even in small ways, can make a big difference to how we create a sense of inclusion and belonging within our UofG community.

This week, our UofG community are encouraged to engage with the wide range of resources already available on the Together Against Racism webpages. These pages bring together University guidance, reporting routes, and learning materials designed to help every member of our community deepen their understanding and act.

On the Together Against Racism webpages, you’ll find:

  • Information on recognising and reporting racism, including staff and student reporting forms and guidance for managers and colleagues.
  • Explanations of racial harassment, racial bullying and microaggressions
  • Resources on allyship and active bystander approaches
  • A Race Literacy Glossary and curated external materials, from readings and sector guidance to videos for continued learning.
