Images for video conferencing

These stunning images of the University are suitable for use as a background in video conferencing software such as Zoom. They have been sized to 1920 x 1080 pixels.

To download images to your computer, right-click (Mac: Ctrl + click) on the image and select 'Save image as' from the dropdown menu. Finally, choose a destination folder for your saved file.

You can access high-resolution photographs from the Marketing Image Library here: glasgow.ac.uk/photo/restricted. If you would like to be granted access or have forgotten your password, please contact brand@glasgow.ac.uk.

When adding one of these background images, your preview may look as if the image, text and logos are the wrong way round, but this is unlikely to be the case. People on the other end of the call should see your background image, text and logos correctly, the right way round. While the preview of yourself in the video looks the wrong way round, the output video to others will be correct so long as ‘Mirror my video’ is ticked. This is the default setting in Teams, Skype and Google Meets too, although you can turn it off in Zoom.

Accessible backgrounds

These plain high-contrast backgrounds may be more suitable for people with certain disabilities and can be downloaded in the same way as those above.
