EPSRC IAA Impact Festival 2019

Wednesday, 27th March 2019, at the “Studio”, Glasgow

Following the success of the 2018 event, the 2019 EPSRC IAA Impact Festival took place on 27th March 2019 in Glasgow was organised by five Scottish Universities holding EPSRC Impact Acceleration Accounts (IAA’s), the Universities of St Andrews, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt and Strathclyde.

The 2019 edition of the Impact Festival was again primarily aimed at early and mid-career researchers and focused on engagement with external partners to expand collaborative working, leading to impact between researchers, academics, industry, charities and Government. More than 100 delegates from across the five participating universities attended.

The day comprised of plenary sessions with speakers from both industry and public bodies and three 45-minute workshop sessions which covered the following topics:

  • Maximising your impact
  • Masterclass on engaging with business and pitching your research
  • Engaging with Policy Makers
  • Funding for Impact/Innovation

An ‘Impact Gallery’ was also set up comprised of projects previously supported by EPSRC IAA, which demonstrated the impact resulting from these projects through a mix of interactive demonstrations and exhibition stands.
