Internal funding sources
Creative and Social Futures Fund
The Creative and Social Futures Fund is a joint innovation fund to support early-stage projects in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences that have entrepreneurial and impact potential, offered in partnership by the University of Glasgow (UofG), the Glasgow School of Art (GSA), The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) and Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU).
Critical Technologies Innovation Fund
The Critical Technologies Innovation Fund (CTIF) aims to support the next stage in an innovation’s commercial development journey, supporting projects that align to the sectors of Quantum, Photonics, Semiconductors & Biomedical Engineering.
Glasgow ICURe Discover Programme
Glasgow ICURe Discover is a part-time online market exploration programme for researchers and technicians, with up to £2,500 support for market discovery activities. It aims to enhance market awareness and deepen the understanding of potential technology applications.
Innovation Cluster Development Fund
The Innovation Cluster Development Fund (ICDF) supports early-stage projects to validate and mature their innovations, enabling staff to develop innovative ideas that may have potential for a spin-out venture, social enterprise,licensing opportunity, or other commercialisation route.
The MedTech Innovation fund provides funding and support to academic staff, post-doctoral research staff and PhD students who have the entrepreneurial spirit and ambition to transform health and patient care. It enables the acceleration and development of innovative medical device amd healthcare ideas that have significant potential for a spin-out venture or licensing arrangement.

Scottish Proof of Concept Fund
The Scottish Proof of Concept Fund supports researchers to bridge the gap between groundbreaking research and commercial application. This fund aims to de-risk innovative projects and technologies, helping them attract early-stage investment.
The UKRI Proof of Concept Fund is a highly competitive national funding pot that provides funding for late stage innovation projects with high commercialisation potential. The University is only permitted to make a small number of applications per round, so you must apply via the IP & Commercialisation team.
