This week saw researchers at Glasgow don their green fingers for the launch of #PGRCommunityGardening, writes Sian Collins, RSIO.

A project initiated by Researcher Development with generous help from UofG Sustainability and GUEST to promote mental well-being and activity for researchers.

Quietly nestled away behind Wellington Church, lie the University Community Gardens in need of some TLC. Luckily, the PGR Community Gardeners are ready to deliver! The weekly session, supervised by Biodiversity Manager Stephen McAnenay, will see a group of researchers come together to help transform these spaces so that they can become a green retreat for students and staff.

This week’s launch was a great success: the rain failed to deter researchers’ enthusiasm and much progress was made. Let the transformation commence!

Could you set up a similar initiative locally for researchers in your area? Let Sian Collins know or get in contact for some tips.
