Become an Ask Me Ambassador to help new students!

Published: 10 December 2018

Are you a member of UofG staff? Want to help new students settle into University? Join the Ask Me campaign!

The Ask Me campaign is back for January 2019!

Members of staff from across the University are invited to join our existing community of Ask Me Ambassadors. Your wealth of experience and friendly face will make an invaluable contribution to the student experience, and make sure that new students feel welcome and supported when they arrive.

If you haven't been an Ask Me Ambassador before and would like to be involved, please complete this form: Ask Me Campaign January 2019.

The January campaign will run from Monday 7 January - Friday 28 January 2019. To find out more and collect your Ask Me lanyard and badge, drop in to the Information Session:

Date: Monday 7 January
Time: 10:00-12:00
Venue: TalkLab, Level 3, Library

How you will help:

The campaign will involve you wearing an Ask Me badge and/or lanyard for the duration of the campaign, while you go about your usual business. These will act as prompts, indicating that students can approach you and ask for help.

To aid you in this task, we will provide you with useful information and answers to the most common student questions.

To get you started, the Ask Me Guide is now available online!

Who can get involved:

All University of Glasgow staff are very welcome to take part.

What’s in it for you:

By wearing the badge or lanyard, you will have an opportunity to connect with students, experience the buzz of campus at the start of a new semester, and gain even more insight into the University and student life.

Previous Ambassadors said:

"I really like helping out in general and there's a great buzz about the main campus at the start of term."

"It helps create a sense of community that goes beyond new students."

"It really reinforces what we are here to actually do."

If you have any questions please contact Student Communications Officer, Heather Corley.
