The Principal’s Early Career Mobility Scheme is now open for applications.

The aim of the scheme is to strengthen partnership working and enhance research collaborations with our strategic partners:

  • Columbia University
  • McGill University
  • Smithsonian Institution (new for 2018-19)
  • University of Hong Kong

The University of Sydney is not included in this call. A broader funding opportunity for Sydney is planned and will be announced later in the year.

Elligibility

The scheme is open to all PhD students, post-doctoral researchers, and early career staff from the University of Glasgow. Please note that the latter must be within five years of their first permanent appointment at the application deadline.

Applicants must develop a clear case, setting out details of the proposed visit, the amount required, as well as a clear explanation of how the money will be used, bearing in mind that a primary criterion in the selection of applications is the potential for the development of collaborations between research groups, leading to joint publications and future joint research funding.

All applicants must seek authorisation from their Head of School/Institute for their proposed visit, by completing the application form which can be downloaded from the ECMS web page. The total amount requested should be less than £5,000, as no single award will exceed this amount.

Applications must be submitted by Friday 24th August 2018.
