Music notation software now available in the Library

Music notation software is now available in the Library

Staff and students can now use two different pieces of music notation software in the Library.

Located in the Sound & Vision Lab on level 4 of the Library are two PCs which offer access to the Sibelius  and Dorico packages. The PCs have the standard student build with the addition of the notation software.

Extensive help guides are available within the software. If you have any feedback on the software, please get in touch with the College Librarian for Music, Morag Greig.

The Sound & Vision lab also offers access to the Library’s collection of CDs and DVDs as well as playback equipment (CD/DVD/LP/tape/video). In addition, there are four electronic piano keyboards.

Further AV resources are available online via the following databases:

  • Naxos Music Library: Music streaming service offering over 2 million tracks. Genres covered include classical, jazz, world plus others.
  • Box of Broadcasts: Record TV and radio programmes from over 65 free-to-air channels. Search an archive of over 2 million broadcasts dating back to the 1990s
