PGCAP applications extended

Published: 27 July 2017

Applications for the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) have been extended until 18 August.

Applications for the Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) were opened on 1 June 2017 and, alongside a successful LEADS Open Day on 12 July, the number of applications received has exceeded our expectations, writes Dr Michael P McEwan, PGCAP Coordinator.

As a result of this increase in applications, LEADS are delighted to announce additional capacity on the PGCAP for a September 2017 start.

We have increased our capacity on the PGCAP by 50% to ensure as many colleagues as possible can take advantage of our September intake on the programme.

You can take advantage of this increase by following the applications instructions on the PGCAP website and selecting 'Route 5' in the application process. We are also still recruiting for our January 2018 intakes.

About the PGCAP

The PGCAP, offered by the Learning Enhancement and Academic Development Service (LEADS), is a 60 credit part-time programme. It offers a chance to develop in learning, teaching and assessment in higher education through practice, with grounding in educational and pedagogic theory as well as the opportunity to learn from and with your peers.

The PGCAP is a core element of the Early Career Development Programme (ECDP) for new academic staff but LEADS are also pleased to announce that applications from University colleagues who are not part of the Early Career Development Programme are also welcomed and encouraged!

Further information on the PGCAP programme can be found through the website, and any queries can be directed to leads-pgcap@glasgow.ac.uk
