The House of Commons Science and Technology Committee is meeting in Glasgow on Thursday 28 June 2018 to hear oral evidence in connection with its inquiry into quantum technologies.

Amongst those giving evidence will be Professor Steve Beaumont from the University of Glasgow. Steve is also Director of QuantIC, the UK’s Centre of excellence for research, development and innovation in quantum enhanced imaging which has a major presence at the UofG.

Meet researchers from QuantIC

Members of the public are very welcome to attend the session which will take place at the Kelvin Hall from 2-4.30pm on Thursday 28 June. 

There will also be an opportunity to meet researchers and find out more about the emerging technologies that QuantIC, the UK Quantum Technology Hub in Quantum Enhanced Imaging, is developing through industrial collaboration. These include imaging systems that can detect gas leaks, see around corners, sensors that will open up new applications in biological imaging and an ultrasensitive gravimeter that has applications in oil prospecting and volcano monitoring
