Future of Computational Science event

Published: 5 October 2017

An event on 16-18 October will ask just how much has computing affected other disciplines? How might it in the future? And how should the future generation of researchers prepare to work with increasingly complex systems?

The use of computing in research is prolific: from daily data analyses, to large simulations on supercomputers, it is all around us. To celebrate 60 years of computing at the University of Glasgow, we ask: just how much has computing affected other disciplines? How might it in the future? And how should the future generation of researchers prepare to work with increasingly complex systems?

Via a mix of training, collaborative workshops, and speakers, the Future of Computational Science event (16 - 18 October 2017) brings together an interdisciplinary audience of postgraduate researchers to help answer these questions, and to celebrate how computing is changing the research landscape, enabling some unsolved questions finally to be answered.
